DAkkS
Accreditation for parentage testing according to ISO 17025:2018(link to certificate – D-PL-13048-01-00) for forensic genetics. We therefore fully comply with the requirements of the Genetic Diagnostics Act, which will make such accreditation mandatory from 2011.
DGAB – Proficiency tests – 2x annual proficiency tests with 3 personal samples and calculation of a biostatistical task
Galantos Genetics regularly and successfully participates in the proficiency tests of the German Society for Pedigree Evaluation (DGAB).

The guideline of the Genetic Diagnostics Commission for the “Requirements for the performance of genetic analyses to clarify parentage and for the qualification of medical and non-medical experts” stipulates that the institution must participate in external quality assurance measures (interlaboratory comparisons) twice a year for all analytical procedures used (see III.11.2 of the guideline). In addition, the responsible sector committee of the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS ) requires participation in two biostatistics proficiency tests per year. The results of the proficiency tests are certified and discussed at the DGAB annual meetings.

Gednap – German DNA profiling – once a year proficiency test with 3 personal samples and 4 trace samples
The Trace Commission is a joint commission of forensic medicine and forensic science institutes in Germany. The trace evidence commission is responsible for the annual GEDNAP trace evidence ring tests for quality control in forensic trace evidence and DNA analysis. Galantos Genetics participates in these proficiency tests in addition to the proficiency tests required for accreditation.
